Preview Display at the Broome County Library

I set up a preview display of some of the Brazieres at the Broome County Public Library in Binghamton, NY on August 3rd. They will be there until August 20th or so - then they will be gathered up for the Judging that will take place on Tuesday, August 25th at Sew Many Quilts in Johnson City, NY. Our panel of three judges will determine the winners for the following categories: Most Innovative, Best Use of Embellishment, Best Use of Color, Most Effective Breast Cancer Message and Most Humorous. Ribbons will also be given for the following: Judges Choice (one for each judge), Viewers Choice (as determined by $1 Braziere Ballots) and Highest Bid (at the auction on November 6, 2009).

The three judges for the project are:

Collage Shots of the Brazieres - SMQ One

Here is a collage of entries - as I collect the paperwork, I am taking a snap of each of the entries. These were taken at Sew Many Quilts in Johnson City, NY. I will be heading out to O'Susannah's in Watkins Glen and Quilter's Corner in Ithaca tomorrow - pending weather and kids illness (a yucky summer flu). Cheers to all who completely their entires!

Brazieres Hanging at the Photographers

Our photographers, Kirk and Lesli Van Zandbergen of Van Zandbergen Photography in Binghamton, NY (http://www.vzphoto.com/) are storing some of the entries, as they plan out their strategy for photographing all the entries. The one with the flowers in front is decorated with yo-yo flowers made by using the Clover yo-yo maker - very cool!

The Braziere Wall at Sew Many Quilts

Here are some of the entries hanging on the wall at Sew Many Quilts in Johnson City, NY. If you recall, a gentleman in my quilt guild made an entry, and as per our agreement, I will be wearing it at our first meeting this September when we start our 09-10 year. Can you guess which one it is? I'll give you a hint - it's got icicles on it - Colder than a Witches you-know what!
