#17 Elizabeth Starks of “My Pets” i.e. “Titty Kitties”
Embellishments & Techniques: Cotton fabric, cotton lace, soft sculpture heads, appliqué tails, couched yarn for front legs, ribbon bows, bells, floral spray color on inside, machine and hand stitching, bead eyes, embroidered nose and cheeks.
Artist’s Statement: I found the fabric and it gave me my theme. It sat on my sewing table for 3 months and finally I started on my base cover of the bra and it designed itself from there. I had bought another kit for a b-day present for a good friend. She had a mastectomy many years ago and is a survivor. She also has her entry submitted. Neither of us has seen what the other was making.
