#43 Sally Dutko of “The Obrama Support Package: Yes We Can!”
Embellishments & Technique: Painted with acrylics. Type was composed on a computer and printed on iron-on inkjet fabric sheets. Other materials: beads, upholstery trim, and metallic fabric.
Artist’s Statement: The Obrama Support Package is meant to visually address a dual purpose: “Yes We Can!” change the health care system, and “Yes We Can!” find a cure for breast cancer. The election of Obama has created expectations that anything is possible – so why not find a cure for cancer? I dedicate this entry to Barb Gingras, who died over a year ago after a courageous and long battle with breast cancer.
