Artist’s Statement: My goal for participating in this project was to bring awareness about Breast Cancer and mammograms. As a women’s health care provider I see many women who do not have adequate breast knowledge or access to care. Many have no insurance – Encore+ and the NY Grant Program are helpful there. Many women are fearful of pain or finding something. Many don’t know what their normal breast tissue is like because they rarely or never do breast exams. My bra is a cry for women to squeeze those melons – the life you save may be your own!
